Mary Ann Stevenson passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on March 11th, 2020. Mary was born to Antoinette and John Mongene in Hessel Michigan, December 25th, 1928. They moved to the Sault in the early 30's where she attended St. Mary's School and Sault Schools. She met the love of her life Chuck, on Mackinac Island, and the couple were married on June 14th, 1952. Their marriage lasted a loving 55 years, and in those years, they together raised a family of four. Her children were the light of her life, and it was no surprise after raising four children, she then took on the role of grandmother. Mary lived for her family and loved all of her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her being. A truly wonderful mother in every way. In her later years, she and Chuck operated the Aune Osborn Campground and helped make it the booming business it is today. They made many lifelong friends working there over the years, and she really loved working there alongside her husband.

Mary is survived in death by her two sons, Charles E. Stevenson Jr., Roger L. (Kara) Stevenson, and two daughters, Terri L. (Marty) Punch, and Gayle A. (Chuck) Stephens, all of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Six Granddaughters, Terri Lynn (Jeremy) Savola, Nicole A. (Brian) Keiper, of the Sault, Gayle Ann (Troy) Garrison, of West Branch, MI, Rileigh P. TenEyck, Sydni R. and Charlie E. Stevenson, also of the Sault. Two grandsons, Elijah and Jacob Reilly. Seven great-grandchildren, Evan Tyler, Reagen, Chevi, Kennedy, Cyrus, Logan and Parker. Mary also has many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents, John and Antoinette (Sauro), and brother, John Michael. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home from 9:00am until 10:45am.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00am Saturday March 14, 2020 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home with Father Michael Chenier as Celebrant and Deacon Bill Piche assisting. Lunch will be provided after the Mass at the Elk's Lodge on Portage Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ball Hospice House of the EUP, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Online condolences may be left at www.clarkbaileynewhouse.com.
