Edward Charles MacArthur, born December 26, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Colin and Louvima (McKenzie) MacArthur, entered heavens gates on Monday, February 27, 2017. Edward was a welder by trade and worked many years at Soo Welding. He continued to finish his career and share his knowledge of the trade with the many students in the welding shop at the Sault Area High School Skill Center. In his retirement, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and tinkering on anything and everything in his garage. Edward could fix just about anything.
He was preceded in death by a young son Jimmie, and siblings: Colin MacArthur, Jr., John MacArthur, Russell MacArthur, Lyle MacArthur, Robert MacArthur, Audree Moore, Doris Farley and his twin sister Shirley Holton.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Grace Ann (LaPlaunt) MacArthur on September 10, 1955. Edward leaves behind his loving wife Grace Ann, sons, Dale (Lynn) MacArthur, Charles (Gail) MacArthur, Alan (Carolyn) MacArthur and one daughter, Karen MacArthur all of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Seven grandchildren, Cheri McClellan of Raleigh, NC, Charles MacArthur, Jr., Brandi MacArthur, Kariann (Jordan) Paoli, Travis MacArthur, Alexis MacArthur and Bradley MacArthur, all of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Edward also has three great-grandchildren, Brianna McClellan of Raleigh, NC, Maison MacArthur and Harper Paoli, both of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Visitation will be held 11:30am until 1:30pm on Thursday March 2, 2017 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30pm Thursday March 2, 2017 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Brother John Hascall as Celebrant.  Final interment will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.  Memorials to Hearthside Assisted Living would be appreciated.  Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.clarkbaileynewhouse.com.
