Mary Margaret (Aldrich) Mansfield, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016 at War Memorial Hospital. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Basil and Bernice (McDowell) Aldrich on          October 12, 1928.

Above all else, Mary loved spending time with her children and their
families. She maintained a lovely sense of humor, had a beautiful, sweet
smile, enjoyed knitting and jigsaw puzzles, and her beloved cats.
Mary spent her entire life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She loved the St. Mary's River, gardening and flowers, and her wonderful home on Bermuda Avenue for over 50 years.

Our Mom was possibly the most loved lady on earth. As her children, we
are so blessed to have been close to her, to have known unconditional
love and acceptance, to have felt her support of our decisions, to have
seen her interaction and joy in her grandchildren and her great
grandchildren. We will miss her every day! Mom was a woman of faith and
we know she is at peace in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. We
also know she is reunited with our Dad, which is a source of great joy.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Francis
(Bud), in 2010.  Her brother, Robert Aldrich and brothers-in-law, Donald Smalter and Wayne Mansfield.

Surviving are her children Susan (Paul) Sullivan, Nancy (John) Swart,
Barbara Mansfield (Todd Yaple), Joan (Joe) Claxton, Jeff (Carolyn)
Mansfield, Judy (Randy) Turner, Mike (Leisa) Mansfield, and Pat
Mansfield. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 7 great
grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Betty Aldrich, Barbara Smalter and
Charlotte Mansfield. She is also blessed with several life-long friends
whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be 9:30am until 10:30am on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am Wednesday June 29th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Michael Chenier as Celebrant and Deacon Bill Piche assisting. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  Online condolences may be left at www.clarkbaileynewhouse.com.

I am so saddened to hear of Mary's passing. What a wonderful lady...with a wonderful smile. I will always remember her kind, happy face at the Shallows. She was a treasure, and Heaven shines much brighter now that she is there. Thank you for allowing me, and many others, to share her time on earth. We were blessed to know her. Prayers and heartfelt sympathy to all who will keep her in their hearts.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your lovely mother. She was so sweet and will certainly be missed by many. It is a long time since we all lived at the Shallows, but the memories are still good. May God grant you all peace and comfort.

To The Mansfield Family: I am so sorry that I am unable to be there with you to celebrate Mary's wonderful life. She was one of the sweetest most loving people I have ever met. Her beautiful smile and loving heart will remain with all who knew her. You are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Treasure the special memories and may these, your strong faith and family, help you through this very sad time.
With love and sympathy, Lynn
