Deborah Ann ( Shuman ) Maleport passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 18, 2014. She was born on August 6, 1952 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
She enjoyed playing Candy Crush, Cross Stitching, going out to eat and to the Casino with her Husband, and playing with her grandchildren. Those who knew Debbie knew that she had a beautiful heart and she lived for her grandchildren, they were her life.  She was a pretty quiet person but once you got to know her she could really get you laughing with some of  the things that you would not expect such a sweet quiet person to say.  She touched more people’s hearts than she will ever know.  She always had so much love to give.  We love you to infinity and beyond.  She worked and managed the Soo Co-Op Bakery for 25 years.  Debbie grew up living at the Iroquois Light House with her parents and sisters.
She is survived by her husband Randy Maleport whom she married October 1, 1976 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Also survived by a son Eric Girard Maleport of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Daughter Lindsay Ann (Steve) Spring of Sault Ste. Marie, MI;  Sister Linda (Bob) Chubb of Tampa, FL; Brothers John (Linda) Shuman of Brimley, MI and Mark (Lori) Shuman of Tampa, FL; Grandchildren Brooke Maleport, Evan Spring and Blake Spring;  Brother’s-in-law Mel (Paula) Maleport, Rick (Peggy) Maleport and Jerry McDonald and several nieces and nephews;  She will be missed by her friends and coworkers at the Soo Co-Op Grocery and T. J. Maxx.  Debbie is predeceased by her parents Jack and Verneda Shuman;  sister Connie Zavotka;  sister-in-law Janice McDonald;  mother and father-in-law Ken and Bernice Maleport.
Visitation will be held 4:00pm until 8:00pm Monday March 24, 2014 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am Tuesday March 25, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Jose Maramattam as Celebrant and Deacon Bill Piche assisting.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the mass at the Christopher Columbus Hall on Sheridan Dr.  Final resting place will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.  In Debbie’s memory memorials to her family would be appreciated.  Online condolences may be left at www.clarkbaileynewhouse.com.
