Rena Jean Marchetti, 91, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI went to be with her heavenly father on December 29, 2013.
She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 21, 1922 to Levi and Margaret Moorehead.  Her family moved to Cambridge, OH where she went to school and graduated from Cambridge High in 1940.
She joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Nursing School on August 25, 1942 at Fairview Park Hospital in Cleveland, OH, and graduated in 1945.  While in Cleveland she met her partner and love of her life.  They were married June 26, 1946 and moved to the Sault where they both worked and raised their family.  After retiring Jean and Pep spent many years on Sugar Island and loved their winters with their many friends in Zephryhills, FL.
Jean was employed at War Memorial Hospital for 38 years and was the Nurse in Charge of surgery.  She ran a smooth tight operating room and the doctors never wanted for anything.  She was a member of the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Christopher Columbus Women Society, and a faithful member of Saint Mary's Pro Cathedral Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Levi and Margaret Moorehead and Sister Joan Wilson.
Survivors include her very loving husband Joseph "Peppi" of almost 68 years, Sons; Jon (Ardi), Greg (Deb), Stephen "Monk", Scott (Teri), and Daughter Mary (Keith) Elliott all of Sault Ste. Marie. Two Nieces Toni Wilson and Missy Carnes of Cambridge, OH. Grandchildren Stacy Marchetti (Marc) of Pickford, Cassie(Jeffrey) Begley of Girard, GA, Lexi Marchetti, DJ Mansfield of the Sault, Chris (Yelena) Mansfield Itasca, IL, Levi Marchetti of the Sault, Brandi Marchetti of Florida.  Great-Grandchildren Logan and Garrett Mayer of the Sault, Anna Mansfield of Itasca, IL.
Friends may visit in the Mary Room at St. Mary's Pro Cathedral Church  on Friday January 3, 2014 from 9:30am until 11:30am  followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am with Father Sebastian Kavumkal and Father Piotr Zaczynski as Celebrants.  Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
In lieu of flowers and plants because of her love of animals donations to Chippewa County Animal Shelter would be appreciated or to Chippewa County Hospice House.  Online condolences may be left at www.clarkbaileynewhouse.com.

To the family of Jean Marchetti,
Just a note to say that my father, Dr. Don Finlayson, always enjoyed working with "Marchetti", as he would call her, and respected her work as a nurse. Wishing you peace and grace.
