Celebrating the LIFE of Dan Rowley Daniel Gerard Rowley passed unexpectedly on Monday, August 2, 2010. "Dan-O", "Dan the Man" loved his work as a special education paraprofessional at the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District''s Rudyard Service Center. He was loved and appreciated by all who were lucky enough to make his acquaintance.

Dan enjoyed his work with special needs children; working with "his" kids was his life. We will all miss his raucous, entertaining, live life attitude and the spice he gave to our lives. Dan made you smile. Every Christmas season lives were changed by the appearance of this jolly fellow dressed in a red suit as he bounded in a door bellowing, "Ho-ho-ho - Merry Christmas!" Many thought that Dan only worked part-time at the EUPISD Service Center while biding his time till December rolled around and the "real" work began at the North Pole.

Dan also cherished spending time with his stepson Adam and two grandchildren, Emma and Ellie. Four wheeling or picking blue berries, it didn''t matter as long as they spent time together. Dan valued family and cherished time spent with all.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Rowley (Donnelly). He is survived by his father, Jack Rowley of Higgins Lake, MI; stepson Adam Bogacki and granddaughters Emma and Ellie of Rudyard, MI; Sisters: Rosemarie Rowley of EastPointe, MI, Mary Rowley and Michelle Rowley of Sacramento, California; Brothers: Kevin (Laura) Rowley of EastPointe, MI, Patrick (Honey May) Rowley of Paradise, MI Loved by nieces: Jennifer, Megan, Christine, Honey Marie, Katie and nephews: John, Zack, and JP.

A public viewing will be held at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home 113 Maple St. Sault Ste. Marie, MI on Sunday, August 8, 2010 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Viewing and Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Paradise, MI Monday, August 9, 2010 viewing: 10:00 a" 11:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM; Father Frank Ricca as celebrant.

The family requests that memorial donations be directed to the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District in memory of Dan Rowley for the purposes of assisting students with special needs for projects that reflect Dan''s character and love of life.

Dan "Santa" will truly be missed by my family. He was my kids bus driver and "Santa". My husband, Ron, and I both worked with him at Rudyard Schools. We will miss his huge smile and easy going personality!

My thoughts and Prayers go out to the family. I had the pleasure of meeting him when He worked for Kewadin Casino....He also was Santa for the children's tribal Parties...He sure knew how to put smiles on children's faces. Rest In Peace!
