Kimberly Ann Rogers of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 19, 2009. She was born in Grayling, Michigan on November 08, 1989. While attending Sault Area High School, Kimberly was admitted to the National Honor Society, was involved with the Student Council and received four varsity letters in both swimming and soccer. She was awarded the Webster Merit Scholarship to attend Albion College where she was currently a sophomore majoring in biology and hoping to become an orthopedic surgeon. Kim was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, a resident assistant and playing her second season on the Albion College lacrosse team. Kim was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. Her interests included swimming, competing 12 years for the Sault Competitive Aquatic Team, soccer, lacrosse, snowboarding, skiing, music and lying in the sun at the beach. She thrived on laughter and was seldom alone, loving the company of dear friends and family. Kimberly is survived by her parents, Larry and Janet Rogers of Sault Ste Marie, her sister Lindsay Rae Rogers of Mt Pleasant, Michigan, 15 aunts and uncles, and 97 cousins. Friends may call at Central United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11:00 am at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Kimberly will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens following a luncheon at the church. Memorials may be sent to the Central United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or North Star Habitat for Humanity in Sault Ste Marie. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan.
