Date & Place of Death: Sunday October 10, 2010 at his home.

Date & Place of Birth: February 1, 1928 Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

Gene served in the 1437th National Guard unit during the Korean War. Upon returning to the Sault he was employed at E Pingatore& Son Cleaners along with a variety of delivery and truck driving positions with Mercury Transport, Allied Van Lines Agent Frost Moving & Storage, and Waggoner Transportation among others. Gene finished his career as a independent agent and broker in the transportation industry. Hockey was a lifelong interest. He was involved with and supported not only his children and grandchildren but also local youth and college hockey. He was instrumental in bringing Midget AAA hockey to the Sault and was a Laker season ticket holder. One of his favorite pastimes and joys was visiting with grandchildren and teaching them how to play cribbage. He was especially successful with Mike. The other lifelong hobby was winemaking. Friends and family have long enjoyed sharing a glass of wine at the kitchen table.

Grandchildren Michael, Jinelle, Allen, Brian, Ashley, Nathan, Amelia, Taylor, Luke, Kate, Kimberley, Francis and Joseph. Great Grandson Vincent.

Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to mention.

PREDECEASED BY: his Parents- Orlando and Mary Pingatore; Brother-Orlando (Landy) Pingatore.

Visitation: 10am until 11am Wednesday October 13, 2010 at St. Mary''s ProCathedral Church.

Funeral Mass: 11:00am Wednesday October 13, 2010 at St. Mary''s ProCathedral Church with Father Ted Brodeur and Father Don Shiroda as Celebrants. Final Resting Place: Riverside Cemetery
